A&P

Anatomy and Physiology provides essential foundational knowledge for anyone pursuing education or a career in the healing arts. Understanding the human body—its structures, systems, and functions—is fundamental to the study of natural health.

In this college-level course, students will explore the structure and function of the human body, from cells and tissues to the major organ systems. Emphasis is placed not only on identifying anatomical structures, but also on understanding how the body's systems function and work together.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will have developed a working knowledge of human anatomy and physiology that can serve as a foundation for continued study in the natural health sciences.

Anatomy & Physiology is a prerequisite for many of the diploma programs offered through the Southern Institute of Natural Health. The course is also approved by the International Iridology Practitioners Association (IIPA) as an Anatomy & Physiology prerequisite for IIPA certification.

Course Organization

This course is taught entirely online, allowing students to complete their studies through the Southern Institute of Natural Health online classroom.

Coursework includes assigned textbook readings, chapter quizzes, homework assignments, and participation in the course discussion forum.

Students will complete a quiz following each chapter to demonstrate their understanding of the material. A minimum grade of 80% is required for successful completion of the course.

This course is taught by Wanda Seitz, ND, CCII.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of Anatomy & Physiology, students will have a working knowledge of the terminology, anatomical location, structure, and function of the major components of the human body.

Students will study cells and tissues, blood and lymph, organs and glands, bones and muscles, the integumentary system, and the major physiological systems of the human body.

The goal of the course is to provide students with a solid foundation in human anatomy and physiology that can be applied to their continued studies in natural health and the healing arts.
